We Are Raising Hope
For the Prevention of Child Abuse

Our mission is to raise awareness about child abuse while raising funding for prevention. Though no one can change the events of yesterdays gone by, we ALL can help to shape the faces of tomorrow. We choose not to walk quietly away from the past, but instead to march deliberately toward a brighter future. We believe that awareness is one giant step toward prevention, and each donation you make is one giant leap toward hope, Noahs Hope. Thank you for visiting, Doug & Kristen Shoup

With the help of numerous volunteers and many generous businesses, today we proudly presented over $15,000 to Dr. Steiner and the Akron Children’s C.A.R.E. Center.

Thank you again to all of our supporters!

Our official year end amount will be announced at the end of December due to some funds still pending.
God bless Noah!

We are happy to announce another event in our mission to raise awareness about child abuse while raising funding for prevention.

A good friend of the family has been busy putting together a large yard sale which will be held this weekend in Uhrichsville. Right now this sale is about the size of an 8 family sale. Donations were given from 8 families, 4 of them being a donation of their entire yard sale stash! We still have donations coming in so there will be plenty for everyone.

All proceeds will go directly to the C.A.R.E. Center at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Join us this Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m!!

Ways to Prevent Child Abuse

Be a nurturing parent.
Children need to know that they are special, loved and capable of following their dreams.
Help a friend, neighbor or relative.
Being a parent isn’t easy. Offer a helping hand take care of the children, so the parent(s) can rest  or spend time together.
Help yourself.
When the big and little problems of your everyday life pile up to the point you feel overwhelmed and  out of control - take time out. Don’t take it out on your kid.
If your baby cries…
It can be frustrating to hear your baby cry. Learn what to do if your baby won’t stop crying. Never  shake a baby - shaking a child may result in severe injury or death.
Get involved.
Ask your community leaders, clergy, library and schools to develop services to meet the needs of  healthy children and families.
Help to develop parenting resources at your local library.
Promote programs in school.
Teaching children, parents and teachers prevention strategies can help to keep children safe.
Monitor your child’s television and video viewing.
Watching violent films and TV programs can harm young children.
Volunteer at a local child abuse prevention program.
Report suspected abuse or neglect.
If you have reason to believe a child has been or may be harmed, call your local department of  children and family services or you local police department.
